Pain Management Options for Horses With Laminitis

Dr. Lori Bidwell lists pain relief medications and therapies that can help horses with acute or chronic laminitis

Laminitis can be an excruciatingly painful disease for affected horses, as the connective tissues that suspend the coffin bone within the hoof become inflamed and damaged. Lori Bidwell, DVM, Dipl. ACVA, of East West Equine Sports Medicine, describes them in this excerpt from our Ask The Horse Live podcast, “Equine Pain and Discomfort.” Listen to the full recording here.
